Admission at Sunflower Trilingual School

Admission to Sunflower Trilingual School's English Program in Samut Sakhon: eligibility, required documents, entrance assessment, enrolment steps and class sizes.

Admission at Sunflower Trilingual School

Thank you for your interest in Sunflower Trilingual School (STS). We run an English Program under the Thai Ministry of Education, teaching in English with daily Chinese lessons. This page explains who can apply, what you need to bring, and what happens at each step.

Who Can Apply

STS welcomes both boys and girls, of Thai or any other nationality. We also accept students transferring from other schools. Admission is open from Primary 1 (Grade 1) through Secondary [4 / 6] (Grade [10 / 12]).

Primary 1 (Grade 1): Your child must be at least six years old by 16 May of the academic year they will start school, as required by the Ministry of Education.

Primary 2 (Grade 2) and above: Your child must have finished the grade before the one they are applying for. For example, a student applying for Grade 5 must have completed Grade 4.

Step 1: Apply

A parent or legal guardian must come to the school with the student to fill in and submit the application form. Please bring:

  • A copy of the student's House Registration (Tabien Baan), or a copy of the passport for foreign students

  • A copy of the student's academic records or latest report card from their previous school (not needed for Primary 1)

  • One recent 1-inch photograph of the student

Step 2: Admission Assessment

Because lessons at STS are taught in English, applicants take an assessment of their basic academic knowledge. Primary 1 applicants do not take the assessment.

The assessment has two parts:

Academic test. Students are tested on basic knowledge in Thai Language, Mathematics, Science and English Language.

English interview. Students have a short interview in English with one of our foreign teachers.

Step 3: Enrolment

Once your child is accepted, a parent or legal guardian must come to the school in person to complete enrolment and sign the enrolment form. Please bring:

  • The completed STS Student Enrolment Form

  • A copy of the student's House Registration (Tabien Baan) or Birth Certificate, or a copy of the passport for foreign students

  • A copy of any official document showing a change of first name or surname, if applicable

  • One recent 1-inch photograph of the student

  • A copy of the student's academic records from their previous school (not needed for Primary 1)

  • Copies of both parents' or guardians' national ID cards and House Registrations. If the father, mother and student are all listed in the same House Registration, one copy is enough.

  • One recent 2-inch photograph of the parent or legal guardian

  • Payment of tuition fees and other school charges

Tip: Many documents are needed at both steps, so it helps to prepare two sets of copies.

Class Sizes

We keep classes small so every student gets attention:

  • Primary: no more than 25 students per class

  • Secondary: no more than 30 students per class

School Days and Holidays

Classes run Monday to Friday. The school is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, following official government announcements. Term breaks follow the STS academic calendar, which you can view on our School Calendar page.

Curriculum

STS follows the Ministry of Education's Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 (2008), taught in English under the English Program. Every student also has Chinese lessons every day.

Uniform

Students must follow the school's rules on uniform, dress and appearance, as set out in the Student Handbook.
