Building the Future Together: STS Parent Coffee Mornings on the International Programme

At Sunflower Trilingual School, partnership with parents is an essential part of building a strong learning community. During the 2025–2026 school year, STS hosted two Parent Coffee Morning sessions focused on the development of the school’s International Programme and the introduction of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). These gatherings provided an opportunity for families to learn more about the school’s plans, ask questions, and share valuable feedback as STS continues its journey toward becoming an IB World School.

Parent Coffee Morning: Introducing the IB Middle Years Programme

November 14, 2025

Sunflower Trilingual School welcomed parents of students in Grades 6–9 to a Parent Coffee Morning focused on introducing the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP)—an important step in the continued development of the school’s International Programme. The session was led by Dr. Kwantip Chinsettawong, School Director, and Mr. Simon Gauci, Headmaster.

During the meeting, school leadership shared an overview of the MYP and its emphasis on inquiry-based learning, interdisciplinary connections, and the development of key skills such as critical thinking, communication, and global awareness.

An important part of the session was hearing directly from parents. Their perspectives and feedback formed a key component of the school’s feasibility study and preparation for IB candidacy, helping ensure that the development of the programme reflects the needs and expectations of the STS community.

The meeting concluded with an open discussion and Q&A, giving parents the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas as STS continued its journey toward the IB Middle Years Programme.

Parent Coffee Morning: International Programme Updates and IB MYP Candidacy Celebration

February 20, 2026

Sunflower Trilingual School welcomed parents to a second Parent Coffee Morning to share updates on the continued development of the school’s International Programme. The meeting was led by Dr. Kwantip Chinsettawong, School Director, and Mr. Simon Gauci, Headmaster.

The session began by thanking parents for their participation and thoughtful feedback during the November Parent Coffee Morning, where families contributed valuable perspectives as part of the school’s feasibility study and preparation for the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).

The February gathering also provided an opportunity to celebrate an important milestone for the school: Sunflower Trilingual School’s official recognition as an IB MYP Candidate School.

During the meeting, school leadership shared updates on preparations for implementing the MYP and developments related to the BELVA learning pathways. Parents were invited to ask questions, offer ideas, and continue the dialogue about the future of the International Programme at STS.

We are grateful for the continued partnership of our parent community as we move forward together in this exciting stage of growth for Sunflower Trilingual School.
