Model United Thailand: Global Challenges, Thai Solutions

On Friday, 21 August 2026, Sunflower Trilingual School successfully organized the Model United Thailand (MUT) activity under the theme “Global Challenges, Thai Solutions, welcoming students from our partner schools, including Potisarnpittayakorn School, Banphaeowittaya (Tee Tong) School, and Samchaiwitaedsuksa School.

Model United Thailand (MUT) is an integrated youth development initiative inspired by the Model United Nations (MUN) framework and adapted to reflect the social and educational context of Thailand. The programme aims to empower Thai youth by developing their understanding of and awareness of current issues affecting Thai society at both the local and global levels (Local Issues & Global Issues).

Through collaborative learning, discussion, critical thinking, and the presentation of development proposals, students are encouraged to explore ways to create positive and sustainable solutions that are relevant to the rapidly changing global context. The programme also promotes social responsibility, civic awareness, critical thinking, and creative leadership, nurturing students to become Change Leaders who can contribute meaningfully at the local, national, and global levels.

The activity was a great success. Students had the opportunity to identify and reflect on issues within their own communities, exchange perspectives with peers from different schools, and collaboratively develop practical approaches to addressing these challenges. Importantly, the solutions proposed by the students can be further developed and adapted for real-world application within their respective local communities.

The success of this activity reflects the school’s commitment to providing students with meaningful learning experiences that connect classroom learning with real-world challenges and empower them to become responsible, innovative, and socially conscious global citizens.
